辅修历史, 需要21个学期学分, including the 6 hours required by the core and an additional 15 hours which must include 2 courses in world history and 9 hours at the 300-level or 400-level. The four required courses include HIST 131, HIST 132, HIST 231, and HIST 232.

辅修地理, 需要21个学期学分 through enrollment in no less than 12 semester credit hours at the 300-level or 400-level. All students must enroll in 地理的132 (3 semester credits), must enroll for 6 semester credits from each of the focus areas listed below, and must enroll for 6 semester credits of electives selected from either focus area. Focus Area 1 for the minor in 地理位置 focuses on Cultural/Human 地理位置 and consists of the following 3-credit courses: GEOG 230, 地理的231, 地理的331, 地理的332, 地理的337, 和地理的430. Focus Area 2 for the minor in 地理位置 focuses on Land Use Analysis and consists of the following courses: GEOG 330 (3 credits), GEOG 338(4学分), GEOG 431(3学分), GEOG 432(3学分).

For the minor in 非裔美国人研究, 需要21个学期学分 through enrollment in four 3-credit courses and 9 additional credits at the 200-level or above. The 4 required courses are HIST 321, ENG 244, POLS 410, and ART 139. The remaining 9 credits may be selected from the following courses: HIST 322, 嘘381, 嘘382, 嘘478, 嘘481, SOC 254, SOC 335, 243年英格, 440年英格, 441年英格, 政客们412, 137年艺术, THC 339, 和SC 436.
学生 must gain admission to the University, 必须满足资产要求, and must petition the Department for major or minor status upon completion of ASSET requirements. Each student admitted is assigned an official advisor, and students interested in certification for teaching in the public schools of Texas should contact the Teacher Certification Officer in the 教育学院. An exit examination is required of graduating seniors. Further information may be obtained by contacting the Department Office at (713)-313-7794.
Members of the Department are housed on the third floor of the Barbara Joran/Mickey Leland Building at the corner of Cleburne and Tierwester in Houston, TX.
妇女研究
辅修女性研究, 需要21个学期学分 through enrollment in five (5) three-credit courses and six (6) additional credits at the 200-level or above. The required courses are as follows: HIST 246 Introduction to 妇女研究, which should be taken first; ENG 339 Women’s Literature; HIST 349 Women’s 历史; SOC 460 Women in Society; and POLS 440 Seminar on Women’s Political Issues. The remaining nine credits may be selected from courses which focus on women, including but not limited to SOC 221 Sociology of Human Sexuality; HIST 348 Women Empire; SOCW 333 Violence and Abuse in Families. Prerequisites: Completion of all required ENG 131, 132年英格, and 200-level core curriculum requirement.
